The conservative government made changes to the Caregiver Program in November 2014, which immigration minister Chris Alexander claimed would improve the working conditions of caregivers and allow for faster family reunification – But this has NOT been the case for many caregivers. In fact, the changes to the program have not addressed the huge backlog of PR applications, nor has it solved the problems of the abuse and exploitation of caregivers.

Today, alarmingly high numbers of Caregivers are stuck in limbo, living in difficult and potentially dangerous precarious situations.
