Our voices were heard from coast to coast!

Published on December 10, 2021

This past weekend, migrants and supporters delivered our message to Members of Parliament (MP) across the country. From British Columbia to Newfoundland, we made noise to let the political leaders know that we are living in crisis, and our lives are a priority!

Hundreds of people had meetings or made calls to their MPs demanding that the time for full and permanent immigration status for all is now. If you haven't, make a call right now: www.MigrantRights.ca/CallforStatus

Watch and share this video of the cross-Canada actions!

We are in crisis. The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is threatening Canada's recovery, while the floods in British Columbia have displaced and destroyed the lives of hundreds of migrant farmworkers. Borders are closing again, while 3rd doses of COVID vaccines are bringing up questions about who is excluded and most at risk.

In this new wave of crisis, migrants are still working on the frontlines - in long-term care, delivery and warehouse work, child and elderly care, farm work and food processing, cleaning and construction - and continue to be denied equal protections and rights because of our immigration status.

As 2021 ends and the government makes plans for 2022, we must ensure that the rights and equality of migrants are a top priority. Will you join us?
